An Introduction to the Tassimo Hot Beverage SystemWhen discussing the Tassimo hot beverage system, one thing should be made clear: Tassimo is not a single-serve coffee maker. There is a reason that they call it a ‘hot beverage system’ rather than a one-cup coffee machine. The Tassimo Hot Beverage System may just be one of the most versatile beverage makers on the market today. The Tassimo hot beverage system is designed by Kraft, a multinational food and beverage company, and is manufactured by Saeco, which makes the highest quality coffee and espresso in the world. You can make coffee, crema coffee, lattes, cappuccinos, espresso, hot chocolate and tea using your Tassimo T-disc system. Because the beverage pours directly from the T-disc into the cup, you can make several different kinds of beverages in a row. With a Tassimo, after dinner coffee on holidays is a snap, even if everyone at the dinner table wants a different kind of drink. How Easy Is It? Making drinks in your Tassimo is as simple as one-two-three: One: Fill the water container and put it back in place on the base unit. Press the on/off switch and open the brew mechanism. The machine will turn on and the water starts heating. Two: Three: That’s it. Once you’ve pressed the start/stop button, all that’s left to do is wait for your drink to be done. When it’s finished, just open the brew mechanism, throw away the used T-disc and enjoy your beverage. Customizing Your Drinks The Tassimo also has a manual mode that allows you to customize the way your beverage is brewed. Once the machine switches from auto to manual mode, there will be a handy front panel light that says “Manual.” You can now add more water to the drink, or you can stop the brewing process immediately for a stronger drink. There is a hot/cold beverage machine in virtually every corner of this city. If you cannot find a can machine within 15 seconds of experiencing thirst, do not fret, for almost surely there will be a 24-hour convenience store within sight that can provide comparable thirst relief. OK, I joke, but there is seriously an extreme number of beverage machines & 24-hr. convenience stores in Kyoto. I appreciate the convenience, but does this strike anyone else as odd? Conversely, when I am done drinking these cans, I find it comparatively difficult to locate a trash can (although Kyotans do not seem to find this a problem as the city is extremely clean, which I also appreciate). Is this just as common in other major Japanese cities (Tokyo, Osaka, etc.)? Domo Arrigato! Because japanese people are always on the go. I read somewhere that there is one vending machine for every 5 people. If you look around i am sure you have noticed that not only drinks are for sale out of vending machines. Because most people there especially in the big cities work HORRIBLE hours so if they can stop and grab something out of a machine it can save them time. Though sometimes i question that like my wifes parents home there in Yokohama there is a bloody million 24 hour stores around. My favorite was the tobacco ones an coffee ones. I used to hit them up after a hard night of drinking. I really enjoyed the coffee ones in winter i would use it to keep my hands warm in the winter on the walk back to base. The lack of trash cans come from the fact that you have to sort all the trash and get in trouble if its not i noticed in the city they lack them but in like Misawa/ Amorri prefecture that they are around alot more maybe because of the country side. The best thing to do is always buy your stuff from the stores then you can keep it in the bags untill you find a trash can dont litter.
