Do you believe that allowing children to be overweight is child abuse?
I see so many children whose parents give fast food and junk food and children seem to have beer bellies. This should not be considered child abuse or neglect and should not be reported? Parents know better these days Obese children more likely to be obese adults. My daughter has a friend whose parents let you eat pizza and bag hooks each meal daily. The girl is 12 years old and weighs 160 pounds. Should not something be done?! The guys I'm referring too are those who eat a huge amount of garbage .. are fat because thats what parents feed them. The girl who is a friend of my daughters is about 4'10 "and wears a size Women's 14. Their parents are not overweight, just do not care. For Ames: I'm judging the parents, children oerweight. I think parents should be responsible to do this to children. The next time you read a little carefully before NREM open your mouth.
No more abusive than parents who smoke at home, or let their children ride in cars without using seat belts, or not to appropriate bed time for their children so they can be well rested and avoid sleep problems as adults. It's lazy parenting, it is regrettable that some most parents do not care for child welfare, yes. If something you do, yes. However, people have a strange way of letting you know what is good or right, or acceptable to their families. If the fear of death or serious health problems your child is not scary enough to make changes, I doubt much else will.
