We have a Krups espresso machine and have read the manual and cleaned with vinegar, as was said, but the taste is still not the same as it was new. We use it every day, so I was wondering if there is anything we can do to get the smell of coffee old / the taste of the machine?
I am only familiar with the machine and my own grand hotel cheap Mr. Coffee pot. I run through ground espresso it. Make sure the area above the grounds are clean. You may need a brush. If a home run with water at the end of the day it does not, you may want to mingle with water ad one or two teaspoons of baking soda per litter. Sweeten my boat.

If you want a delicious dark espresso with a rich thick crema, you usually have to go to some expensive coffee shop full of grumpy baristas that pull your shot with as much ennui as they can possibly muster. Tips for brewing perfect espresso with the Presso Espresso Machine! Use Fresh Coffee Beans. Fresher means thicker crema! You must use the correct grinding size and the correct coffee quantity. If you can grind it finer than the espresso setting on your grinder, great. And we use 12-14 grams per double-shot. Tamp it hard. Fill the water container with 120 ml. of hot, almost boiling water. Pull the arms up, let the water seep into the grounds for a second or two. Push down slowly on the arms until just a few drops of espresso drips out. Quickly raise the arms, then squeeze it down again quickly. The water will come out slowly, but this is normal. If the water comes out too quickly, then you need to find a finer grind, use more grounds, or tamp the grinds harder. When the espresso stops dripping out, don’t be tempted to pull the arms up and try again! This will release too much water and make a watery and bitter brew.
