Dummy Realistic Has anyone read "Islam for Dummies"? I want to know if there is a realistic and honest representation.?

Islam for Dummies sounds a bit like that, stupid and insulting. lol. But to be fair, there is a book for dummies throughout. Basically, it gives a simplistic or direction of things.
I read several years ago when the first time. The author is not a Muslim, but I think to be honest. However, a number of errors made in my opinion, while most private of any potential value and were severe enough to prevent it. I did not have before me now, Insha'Allah be back later with more detailed criticism of its contents. EDIT: I got it before me now, and Insha'Allah I will detail some of the more obvious errors. For starters, Qadianis are treated as "sect" of Islam. Contents and p. 240. Repeat some of the details of the blood libel of the 72 virgins and suicide terrorists, citing a report of false news as a source which he accepts. However, says there are 72 virgin though you disagree with the myth of suicide bomber. pp. 74-76 children are valued as rescued by parents in Paradise, where is the reverse. 71. Pages 167-168 uncritically agree with the sanctity of Islam, most of which is nonsense. He says that Muslims can eat food kosher as halal is not available, "because kosher food follow a standard ritual that increasingly stringent food halal. p. 177 While true that Muslims can eat kosher food, the reason is that those who follow stricter rules, but because it is the food of the people of the Scripture specifically mentions in Surah Al-Maidah. Kosher food is also more lenient than halal. The Yahudis allowed 2% of the Haram at all for 100 pounds of kosher meat mixed with 2 pounds of pork is acceptable to the Yahudi, and that is totally unacceptable to Muslims. It states that "The works of Greek ethicists, translated into Arabic, are another source" of ethical guidelines in Islam. pp. 184-185 Muslims are blamed for 9 / 11, not the Mossad p. 278 and that shows he is geographically challenged when on p. 321, begins a 2-page section on "Baltic states", which he said are Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo and Albania LOL! And as I mentioned above, contains a wealth of useful information on the hundreds of pages. But for someone who just learned about of our Deen, and for the unbeliever, who is simply interested in Islam, which contains too many errors to accept it as a useful guide. Unless you know what enough about our Deen, avoid it.
