I'm not sure what you mean by "the gift card the machine stopped working "but could be one of two things: 1) The problem of Software: This is the gift card is the final leg in the transformer or software in the terminal needs to be recharged. A call to your merchant account provider to clear that up to 2) A physical problem: I'm not sure exactly how this happened as gift cards are not special and do not require special equipment for processing. Usually if you can accept credit cards the same parts of the terminal are also responsible gift cards. If you suspect it is actually a physical problem, call the company from whom you purchased the terminal and see if it's under warranty.
